We got the surprise of our lives when District Governor Elect Mary Anne Alcordo-Solomon informed us that our promotional poster for the Feeding Program at St. Vincent Strambi Home for the Aged got a full-page feature in the March 2016 issue of the Philippine Rotarian Magazine.
This project was started twenty-years ago as an annual Medical Mission activity. Our engagement with the old folks and their reaction to our visits made the club decide to introduce the monthly feeding program which is preceded by a Holy Mass. Our spouses whom we call M.A.R.E. (an acronym for Magaganda Aktibo at Responsableng Esposa) are now in the forefront of ensuring that this project remains sustainable.
Thank you to District Governor Salvador “Buddy” Estudillo for recognizing our efforts. Incidentally, DG Buddy personally witnessed the activity during his Governor’s Visit last August 2015. He commended the group when he learned that this project has been running for over two decades now.[/fusion_text]
