Tips Para Sa Mga Unemployed Registered Nurses

courtesy of rhaujdailycatalog.wordpress.com

Granting na pumasa siya, she will become part of the statistics ng mga unemployed Registered Nurses.  Like it or not, this is the reality especially dito sa Pilipinas.  Walang impact kahit you graduated t the top of your class or you are a board topnotcher. Is this the end of the line for them?  Definitely not.  Hetong mga pwede nilang gawin…

  1. Get a much-deserved vacation.  First things first.  Mag-relax ka muna.  The future ahead is bleak and challenging.  Kailangang paghandaan mo ito by getting that much-deserved vacation.  Kung afford mong mag-abroad go lang.  Pero kung hindi mo carry then a trip to the nearest beach resort is good enough.  Basta ang importante eh ma-relax ang utak mo from the gruelling  four years and two months review.
  2. Reconnect with your family. Now’s the time to reconnect with your family. Ngayong wala kang trabaho bawal ang maginarte and go pa-friendly ever.
  3. Keep yourself fit and healthy.  Iwasan ang walang pakundangang kainan.  Kung tabain ka then now is the time to exercise and to stay trim.  Bakit?  Kasi po sa ayaw nyo at sa gusto, employers prefer the prettier ladies, the good-looking gentlemen and the physically fit.
  4. Iwasan ang kapwa unemployed.  At ano naman ang paguusapan nyo, aber?  Puro malulungkot nyong karanasan ng walang trabaho?  Ay sus kabarus!  Lalo lang kayong madidiscourage if you get together and share your miseries.  Misery loves company but misery is bad company.  Iwasan ang isa’t isa for the time being.  Discuss your concerns with your family. Isa pa, this is the time to build your self-confidence.  Iwasan ang mga may negative vibes.
  5. Make GOOGLE your best friend.  Get a good internet connection at home.  Or kung nagtitipid ka then look for an internet cafe where you can be comfortable while searching.  Am sure that somewhere out there merong bansa na nangangailangan ng isang nurse na katulad mo.  Be patient.  Search lang ng search.  And please don’t be gullible.  Using Google, you can verify if certain companies are legitimate or not.  Get as many possibilities.  Verify them and then send your application via email.  The next thing to do is to wait and hope that somebody will respond.
  6. Don’t mind the horror stories — send your application to local hospitals anyway.  Malay mo may ma-impress sa pinadala mong application letter and resume.  You’ll never know.  Lahat ng ospital or clinic padalhan mo.  You need the job or the job experience kaya huwag ka nang masyadong mapili.  There will be some hospitals who will require to pay for this exposure.  Kung willing ka then go otherwise huwag mong pilitin ang sarili mo or you’ll just feel terrible everyday.  And just in case you’re called for an interview, try these TIPS.
I have tellers or new accounts clerk na mga Registered Nurses.  Don’t worry about not having any banking background kasi tini-train naman kayo.  Ang importante is your personality and of course customer service.  Most of the nurses I’ve hired are very patient and magaling mag-alaga ng clients.  Give it a shot.  Apply na.
  8. Go back to school.  Kung pinagbigyan mo ang parents mo na maging nurse ka then go for the kill and ask them to send you back to school sa kung anong kursong talagang gusto mo.  You wanna be a chef?  Go for it.  Or kung gusto mong matipid and yung madagdagan ang skills mo then visit the nearest TESDA office and inquire about short courses on baking, beauty science and the like.  You just might need these skills in the future.
  9. Start a BLOG. A blog can be your personal diary.  If you’re good at it — sisikat ang blog mo.  If you’re techie enough baka mapagkikitaan mo pa ang pagba-blog.  For me, hindi ito isang money-generating activity.  I find blogging a “release.”  It’s something I do kapag nagiisa ako so my time is not wasted.  Try mo lang and you just might get the hang of it.
  10. Maging Call-Center Agent ka.  Hasain mo ang pag-spokening-dollars mo by joining a BPO.  Take note that this is a life-changing decision. You’ll have a different set of friends who share the same schedules with you.
  11. Be an entrepreneur.  Magaling ka bang magnegosyo?  Why don’t you start a small business. Start by offering your services to your relatives.  Magaling ka bang magluto?  Simulan mo sa pagpi-prepare for a family party.  You could be the next big thing sa catering services.  Kumakanta ka ba?  Offer to sing in a wedding or any special event.
You might have other things that you can do.  Share mo dito.  In the meantime, share nyo ito sa lahat ng mga kaibigan nyong unemployed.  Nothing is permanent sa mga taong magsisipag.  Good luck po!

  2. tama ka kuya. What i suggest is unemployed nurses get additional add on value to their basic nursing skills.

  3. if you’re interested to work as a call center agent here in Cebu, i can try refer you… give the industry a try, there are particular accounts that look for applicants with “medical background”… although it would also be best if the government can put up a number of hospitals more to take care of the citizenry in dire need of medical assistance, and give our nurses the opportunity to take care of these patients…
