Kuya Avel and I had the chance to experience the newest baby on the Gokongwei block, Go Hotel. We were in Manila for the 2010 Word Camp and Go Hotel was kind enough to host us for the duration of our stay. I had initial misgivings especially for hotels that I haven’t heard about but all my fears and apprehensions flew out of the window the minute I stepped inside the lobby. The warm attention provided by the front-desk personnel made me feel at ease and at home. Apparently, we were expected thus checking in was a breeze. This was indeed a new hotel. The lobby may appear bare but the air of hurried activity is thick for there were other guests checking in too. When we got to our room I immediately agreed to what Go Hotel have been boasting about in their website. Here are 8 Smart Reasons why…
For a big person like me, hotels beds must suit my size and be able to “carry” my weight. Theirs not only delivers – I slept so comfortably that I didn’t hear the alarm the next day. Their pillows are A-okay – I just wished I had more.
Rain Shower + Handheld Shower
Bathrooms are my favorite part of any hotel room. It has to be clean and should smell clean. I am a sucker for small toiletries. Being a no-frills and budget hotel, you only get the basic soap and shampoo which is good enough for me. And the Rain Shower was just too much! It actually felt like rain pouring on me.
Surprisingly, each room is installed with an LCD television and that for me is the one of the best gauge that hotels are really after the enjoyment of their guests. At Go Hotel, gone are tv sets that insults your need for a better viewing convenience.
Wi-Fi Internet access should be part and parcel of any hotel. It should be available in all areas without additional charges. Thankfully at Go Hotels, it is! I was literally in internet heaven.
Safe & Secure
I must say that I felt a sense of security during my stay. Not anyone can enter the lobby without their magnetic keycards. Despite this arrangement, the security personnel was courteous. Each guest room is also equipped with a safe where you can keep your valuables.
Go Hotel is located at the Upper Ground of Robinsons Cybergate Plaza, EDSA corner Pioneer Street, Mandaluyong City. Cybergate Plaza is the pioneer location of gohotels.ph, located beside Forum Robinsons Mall where various shops, restaurants and other specialty establishments can be found.
Access to Transport
Stepping out of the hotel and to your next destination would not be a problem here. Fronting EDSA makes for easier accessibility to transportation. The hotel staff was more than willing to guide you on what transport to take.
Fun & Friendly
Everyone will feel at home at Go Hotels. They probably have the friendliest hotel staff and hopefully would be so in the years to come. They always have ready answer to every question or concern that I threw to them. And do check out their lounge chairs that are oh-so-comfortable at every lobby of each floor.
