Grading My Efforts Vis-A-Vis My New Year’s Resolutions

Binusisi ko ang New Year’s Resolutions ko nung June 2010.  I was on the roll that time.  How am I doing now?  First time kong ginawa na talagang nag-follow through ako sa mga sinulat kong resolutions.  I am actually breaking grounds here kasi binabale-wala lang natin ang mga New Year’s Resolutions natin – lip-service lang baga.  Ngayon na malapit nang matapos ang taon, I am grading myself in each resolution I made.  Read on, faithful readers…

Lose Weight, Get in Shape & Stay Healthy

Ang ganda na sana ng inumpisahan ko.  I was actually exercising 4x a week on my stationary bike.  I was on a no-rice diet and really watching what I was eating.  Lumiit ang tiyan ko and I lost weight.  I was beginning to feel good physically.  Ay sus nag-back slide ako and stopped exercising and binged ate.  The weight I lost, I gained back and more.  Kalurkey.  My exercise bike is lonely.  I am sad too.  Lord give me the strength to get back to exercising and eating healthy.  My grade:  Failed.

I Wanna Pay All My Utangs

Di ko man nabayaran ang mga utang ko this year at least, after the longest time, I have financial control na.  My credit card bills are paid on time and bumababa na rin.  I’d prefer paying in cash kesa  credit cards.  Utility bills are also up-to-date and I still have enough to spare.  I just have to spend wisely and I believe that would be part of next year’s resolutions.  My grade:  Incomplete.

I Will Spend More Time with Family

Hmmm…. Let me see… I’m a better brother and uncle this year – I think.  I’m still masungit but if you touch the right buttons I can be anyone’s best friend.  I’ve mellowed this year.  Mas madali akong pakiusapan ng pamilya ko.  Pero once na hindi ako pumayag they won’t insist na.  A recent development in the family and my reaction to it was proof positive that I have mellowed.  I also noticed that I have invested quite a bounty for the family.  That’s a good sign.  My grade:  Needs Improvement.

I Wanna Take a Vacation

Dito talaga ako pasadong-pasado.  Our Asian vacation was a blast.  Super enjoy kami nina Kuya Avel, Marz and Mara.  I enjoyed our Malaysian and Thailand sojourns.  Grabeng shopping ang ginawa ko sa Thailand kaya when it was time for our Singapore trip mainit na ulo ko kasi konti na lang ang baon ko.  Well, at least nakapag-bakasyon ako.  My grade: Passed.

Learn How To Drive

Antamad ko kasi.  Total failure ako dito.  Antagal ko nang pinaplano ito.  Andyan lang naman si Peter Pilot to teach me.  Whew!  Hopefully, next year magawa ko na ito.  My grade:  Failed.

It will take a lot of balls to grade yourself lalo na’t we’re talking about New Year’s Resolutions.  Eh sino ba ang nagseseryoso nito.  Ang importante, kahit failure ka, accepted mo na ikaw lang din ang makakagawa ng paraan para matupad ang mga resolutions mo.  It’s that time of the year, faithful readers.  Kung may ginawa kang listahan ng New Year’s Resolutions mo then panahon na para i-revisit ito.  Don’t worry kung mababa ang grades mo.  Ang importante is your attitude to work on your weak points.  Yun lang.  Babu.
