This year’s Mardi Gras Street Dancing Competition has so far caught the interest of nine (9) elementary schools and five (5) high schools.  As of yesterday, we have gotten inquiries from three more groups.  This time around, there will be three main areas where the participating contingents will be judged.  These are:

  1. Oval Plaza Grounds, fronting the Stage Area on September 20, 2010 at 5:00pm.  The contingents will perform during the Opening Ceremonies of the Tuna Festival Week.  An updated version of the original Tuna Festival Theme Song will be played for this ONE DANCE performance.
  2. Pioneer Avenue on September 26, 2010 from 9:00 am to 12:00 nn.  This is the Street Dancing Portion of the criteria.  All contingents will parade the streets on the final day of the Tuna Festival week as one music is played on big Sound Boxes in the streets.
  3. Gensan Gym, Lagao on September 26, 2010 at 3:00 pm.  All participating contingents will converge at the Gensan Gym grounds in Lagao for the Focal Presentation.  Bringing the event to the gym will give spectators a better view of the contingents as they vie for the coveted Grand Prize.
