Today marks the joint anniversary celebration of the seven clusters of the National True Vine Catholic Community Inc. whose main objective is the propagation of the devotion to the Senor Santo Nino. It all started way back in June 1993 and I was the Head Servant of the Mother Chapter here in Gensan. What we do is to enthrone the image of the Santo Nino to different family homes at 3:00 in the afternoon every Sunday. The enthronement includes the praying of the Holy Rosary, Prayer Novena to the Santo Nino, High Praise and Worship, Bible Reading and Sharing and the Sinulog Dance. The image stays in the house of the host family for their one-week novena. I have been doing this for seventeen years and this devotion has been the balancing force of my life. It has since grew to eight cluster-groups in Gensan and one in Polomolok. This year’s joint celebration kicks off with a Holy Mass at the St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church at 8:00 in the morning. The Novena will follow at around 9:30 am at the Covered Hall of Nana Beth’s Garden followed by the changing of the Holy Robe and Vestments of the Santo Nino images. The celebration will be capped by the Grand Sinulog Dance after which lunch will be shared among the member-devotees.
