Bloggers’ Summer Safari: Off To A Good Start

Thanks to our generous sponsors, Day 1 of the SoCCSKSarGen Bloggers’ Summer Safari was a resounding success.  Seventeen (17) bloggers from Cagayan de Oro and Davao converged in General Santos City for this once-in-a-lifetime event.  The group was billeted at Ice Castle Experience Hotel where they were welcomed by owner Rey Billena.  We then proceeded to Pacman’s Sports Bar for a quick look-see.  What was supposed to be servings of aperitif drinks turned to a full-blown cocktail party for us.  Sizzling beef-tips, crunchy cheese sticks and juicy garlic chicken were served.  I cautioned everyone that a dinner buffet is awaiting us.  Naubos pa rin ang food.  Bar Manager Mary Ann really took good care of us.

Our dinner host was already panicking because we were running late.  Better late than never.  Le Jardin Arnevel prepared a truly Filipino Fiesta for all of us.  Owner Nitz Velasquez made sure of that.  We feasted on grilled tuna panga, kinilaw na blue marlin, crabs, pompano, lechong baboy and variety of local veggies for the pinoy salad. Now, how can you top that?  What made the evening more romantic was the venue, being Arnevel’s poolside.  A smorgasbord of fresh fruits helped us shoo the umay away.

What better way to end the day but with a great bonding time with GenSan bloggers.  piYESta KTV Bar & Resto played bartender that night and mind you, it was open bar for everyone.  General Manager and Blogger Donna Mae Congson paraded their latest offerings:  Jell-O Shots and  Rhum Iced Tea.  Of course, any visit to piYESta is not complete without their Kura Sticks and Crispy Tuna buntot!  Most of us went home - bangenge mode – but happy, just the same.  Here’s looking forward to our Lake Sebu experience.
