Pablo’s Surprises

Pablo’s Steaks & Crabs is known for their mouth-watering Angus Steaks & Cotabato Crabs

They opened their Davao Branch with much hoopla last year

Located at Metro Lifestyle Complex, along Jacinto corner Torres Street

This restaurant has upped the ante for fine dining in Davao

Luckily for us, Pablo’s was our dinner host for DFAT 2010’s Day #1

And we’re even luckier kasi puro bagong putahe ang sinerve sa amin

I am a salad addict

I devour anything green, leafy and chewy

But I always go for my vinaigrette dressing

I TRY to shy away from any mayo-based dressing

But these two entree dishes floored me

Insalata del sol is to die for

The mix of greens and fruits are oh-so-fresh

pablo’s ceasar’s salad

Their version of Ceasar’s Salad is a delight too

Okay, okay — I’m a salad addict

And I reserve my superlatives for salads

I liked the crunchy feel of their bread crumbs

Their dressing is kinda tangy and I loved it

sausage platter: hungarian, frankfurter and beef banger

Now anybody who is on an diet can leave now

With an overdose of sausages like this

How can you still say goodbye calories?

They know how to prepare sausages

Hindi sya bubble-gummy chewable

Kada bite mo – ramdam mo talaga ang linamnam

angel’s hair pasta with shrimp in garlic and olive oil

Ito ang talagang pinag-agawan namin

Uber sarap kasi and hindi o.a. ang timplada

The serving is just enough kaya okay lang sa mga nagdidiyeta

Malasa din ang shrimps and tama lang ang dating ng garlic

Ito ang talagang babalikan ko next time around

pasta with basil & mint pesto with chili fish

This pasta dish naman ay naiiba

The fried cream dori fish balances the pesto and makes it allright

Feeling ko this will be a hit to Europeans

Funky kasi ang dating nito at kakaiba

chicken in balsamic barbeque sauce

Who will ever go wrong with chicken barbeque?

Ang lambot ng meat nito and kahit umiiwas ako ng chicken skin

Napakain talaga ako kasi tamang-tama lang ang sauce na pinampahid

Sarap to the bones ito, diba Faust?

Kung pwede nga lang na hindi ko na ipasa ito, ginawa ko na

Grabeeee talaga ang bagong putaheng ito

The chicken was tender, juicy and very very malasa

Crunchy sya on the outside pero anlambot ng meat

The cream cheese stuffing gave it an added zest

Hay naku I want one right now!

Heto na ang high-blood material

Ang galing ang dinagdag ni Chef Mike with this dish

The cinnamon glazed apples gave the much-maligned pork chop some class

Truth to tell, masarap ang pork chop nila

Iwas lang sa taba-portion para di ma-stroke

grilled maple and mustard barbeque pork

And who would not want to have your honest-to-goodness grilled pork chops?

Nakaka-enganyong kainin ang taba, nakakainis!

Pero tiniis ko pa rin and tanging lean meat lamang ang tinikman ko

The vegie sidings are a big help to lessen the umay

Akala talaga namin tapos na ang dinner

Inihabol pa ang Angus beef dishes nila

Their pepper steak was a blast

Anlambot ng meat and I liked how it was cooked

The bell peppers gave the dish a distinct sweet smell

Medyo maanghang sya pero carry pa rin

mushroom and asparagus beef roll

Bida dito ang fresh asparagus shoots

Pero mas gusto kong katapat ng meat ang mushrooms

Ang cute ng presentation ng dish na ito

Kaso uber busog na ako kaya mini-bite na lang natikman ko

One good thing about it, hindi lasang baka ang meat nila

Mabango, masarap at malinamnam pa rin

Chef Mike Sunglao joined us after everything was served

Hindi dahil pogi sya kaya ko pinapataba ang puso nya dito

Iba talaga kapag ang may-ari mismo ang chef ng resto

Feel na feel mo na pinaghirapan talaga ang bago nilang putahe

Chef Mike was gracious enough to tell us

Na his Mommy Sol assisted him in building Pablo’s new menu
