President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has signed a proclamation declaring May 3, 2010, a Monday,  as a special non-working holiday.  This means that we will have another long weekend ahead of us.  This is in line with GMA’s holiday economics policy under Republic Act 9849 signed on Dec. 11, 2009, which states that  holidays except those that are religious in nature should be moved to the nearest Monday.   May 1, Labor Day, falls on a Saturday.
