My Five Reasons For Wanting To Watch Sarah Geronimo’s Concert

Gensan News Online Mag is at it again!  After three successful blog contests namely the “David Pomeranz Concert in Gensan Blog Contest”, the “2nd Blogsary Ultimate Greeting Contest” and  the “What Air Supply Song Are You Blog Contest”, here’s another blog-writing challenge where concert tickets are once again up for grabs.  It’s the “5 Reasons on Why You Should Watch  “The Next One” Concert of Sarah Geronimo in GenSan?” BLOG Contest!  This concert is part of the Platinum Concert Series for 2009, produced by Dreamwork Ventures, which is owned by debonair and dashing entrepreneur Michael Wee.

Now, why would I want to watch Sarah Geronimo?  I’ve seen the phenomenal rise of Sarah.  Her ticket to fame was her singing voice.  From there, she upped the ante and acted on television and eventually the movies.   She attained successes in all fields and is now being touted as the next NORA AUNOR.  I’m a true-blue Noranian so I know where I’m coming from.  That’s why this is my No. 1 reason – I wanna see for myself what stuff Sarah is made of. This concert will be my barometer as to whether or not Sarah can indeed be the Superstar of her generation.

Sarah has masa-appeal but she has definitely broken grounds with the AB crowd.  This is the second reason why I want to watch her concert.  I wanna see if she has indeed risen above the BADUY connotation. Although she sings with a good diction and pronunciation, it’s still debatable.  Let’s see if she’s any good, singing those American songs, live!  Let’s see if success has reallychanged Sarah’s life.

My third reason is that I just want let my hair down, relax and enjoy myself. Reports say that all her concerts were box-office hits.   I want to experience it myself and I just wanna have fun.  I consider this as a reward for working so hard this year.  Actually, gusto ko lang sumayaw sa concert ni Sarah!  The last time that I danced in a live concert was  during Gary Valenciano‘s concert a very long time ago!  Let’s see if I’ll have the guts to dance again!  Hehehehehe!

Reason No. 4 is musical composer and arranger Louie Ocampo.  Louie is probably known for the song EWAN which won as 2nd Best in the 1979 Metro Manila Popular Music Festival.  He has penned numerous hits for such artists as Gary Valenciano, Martin Nievera, the APO Hiking Society, Regine Velasquez and Basil Valdez.  If he’s in this concert, then expect a full band to back Sarah up.  This should be enough reason not to miss it.

And there’s the R&B Prince, Jay-RNgayon pa lang kinikilig na ako. The guy can sing and swoon and he’s one hell of a looker too!  That is why Jay-R is my fifth reason for wanting to watch Sarah’s concert. To top it all, Billy Crawford is gonna be at the show too.  Sarah probably had a hand in choosing her guests — combining talent, good looks and the masa-appeal makes a sure-fire hit.  Mark Bautista, Simon Wood and Jimmy Marquez complete the list of Sarah’s guests.

These are my reasons for wanting to watch Sarah Geronimo perform live in Gensan – what’s yours?  Thanks to Bariles Republic for this opportunity — I hope this blog wins the top prize!  Anyway, big thanks to the show’s producer, Michael Wee of Dreamwork Ventures and of course to the different sponsors that have been very supportive.  Shows like this surely gives Gensan another feather in its cap. See you all on December 11, 8:00 in the evening at the Lagao Gym!
