Every hour someone dies simply because they didn’t buckle up. Failure to buckle up contributes to more fatalities than any other single traffic safety-related behavior. Despite terrible traffic problems such as aggressive driving, increasing seat belt use is still the single most effective thing we can do to save lives and reduce injuries on roadways. I survived any major injuries when my car turn-turtled three times because I buckled up. Thumby, our designated driver, was thrown out of the window and almost died – he forgot to put on his seat belt. Seat belts are the most effective safety devices in vehicles today. Buckle up! Wear your seat belt!
