Tuna Festival Photo Photo Contest Finalists (Float Parade of Lights Category)

Ice Cold Tuna
Choosing the winners under this category was the most difficult. We had to balance between day shots and night shots since this is the first time that the floats are lighted. In the end, six entries got the nod of the judges. This shot is by Gensan Camera Club incoming president Omar Gallinero. The hues of blue punctuated by the great float design won the nod of the judges. ICE COLD TUNA is a winner.

GTX and Tuna
Gensan-born Arnold Velasquez delivers a beautiful shot of this float entry. Aptly titled as GTX and TUNA, this picture captures the vibrant spirit of GTX or Gensan’s Tuna Festival eXperience while paying homage to Gensan’s top product, the tuna fish.

Eyes Wide Open
Bong Maliwat, an executive of Dole Pineapple Phils., Inc. couldn’t believe that one of his entries made the grade. He only learned about it during the day of the awarding. Apparently, he wrote the wrong cell phone number in his entry form thus the news didn’t reach him. EYES WIDE OPEN shows Bong’s creative eye for a good camera shot.

Ready to Fly
This particular shot by Dino Kintanar which we termed READY TO FLY shows the enterprising spirit of every General which was vividly depicted in this entry from SOCOTECO II. Two more entries have yet to submit their high-resolution jpeg images to the committee, the winners are both from Cebu City. We’ll post them as soon as we get hold of the images.
