Elementary school children from SPED Integrated School won the Grand Prize in their category in a colorful, vibrant and festive take on this year’s Mardi Gras Street Dancing Competition.  Under the tutelage of Mark dela Cruz, they bested two other contingents.  SPED boasts of special kids as among their participants which according to Mr. dela Cruz made the competition more nerve-wracking.  “Mas dedicated ang mga bata ngayon.  Sila ang laging maaga kada ensayo at gusto nila na ang pinakamahirap na routines ay ma-assign sa kanila.  Hindi ka maniniwalang mga special kids sila.“  On  the other hand, the General Santos City School of the Arts bested competition in the High School category.  They get my vote for discipline and polish of dance steps.  They each won 60,000 pesos and a trophy.
