The Drunken Master

How is it to be really drunk? Have you ever blacked out because of drunkenness? Almost often, the day after is the most difficult to face. Your thoughts are garbled and you have no recollection whatsoever as to what transpired the previous night.  You only get mischievous stares from the people around you. Your mind has stopped working as you try to pick up the pieces of the events that happened only hours ago. Your brain is like a mass of porridge so you end up getting more and more confused and embarrassed. The stares have become suppressed giggles. And all you could do is blame yourself for getting really drunk. Remorse seems too late. Regret is inevitable. Then the memories of the night begin to seep in. Embarrassment shifts to shame. If you could just melt right there and then – you’d wished you would. The stifled giggling now becomes boisterous laughter. Memory recall is now on high gear. By now, you’d wish you were dead. There is only one thing left for you to do. You’d promise yourself never to touch a single alcoholic drink again. You’d promise anyone who would care to listen that you have learned your lesson and that enough is enough. You commit yourself to being a changed person. And to celebrate, you offer yourself a TOAST…and you realized you just got lost, again…
